Restorative justice is a philosophy and theory rooted in Indigenous teachings that emphasizes community building, repairing harm, and reintegration into the community as fundamental principles of justice. Restorative justice stresses the importance of establishing and maintaining trustworthy and equitable relationships. Once the research has been completed, the NSU Incubator will move to implement the outcomes through a restorative Justice lens in environmentally and economically vulnerable communities.
The environmental restorative justice model serves as the foundation for the NSU EJ incubator, and restorative justice principles guide the research that is conducted.
